I like the colors. I used to do this with crayon, put colors underneath and then go over the entire thing in black crayon and use something to scrap a picture into the crayon. I havent thought about doing that since i was a kid

Just a super quick drawing so I could post asking a favor of you all:

Over the next few months I will be starting my serious tattoo work. I would love to get some ink that you guys design. If any of you would be willing to help me out, and see your art in flesh for all eternity, it would be super rad.

The one I really want to get first is a tarot card - The Hanged Man. I really like it in this old fashioned style, like this dude has:

The traditional looking stuff, with a border, but of the card The Hanged Man. You could do it by hand too, of course. There's a few of you who's style I would really like it in, especially syrynx probably because her style is so nice and soft.

The other stuff I want help on, I am doing an entire half sleeve of Alice in Wonderland stuff. I want to get the scene where she is falling down the hole because it would make for easy filler in between the pieces. I want to get all the characters and imagery, but done in different art styles. There's a few of you who I would love to get some Alice in Wonderland stuff from - Fig, Sam, Alanna, XOD, Pig...all of you who have creepy styles.

Whichever one somebody feels like helping me out on, if anyone even decides to help out, will be my next tattoo, and I'll probably get it done in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Syrynx. I also kinda wanted to note that the far background there isn't transparent. In ShiPainter you can make a layer more transparent and right click to select the lightened color as if you had gone into the color box and done it from there.

Sean , blurring solids dose not realism make. You have a toony style and solids would work best for it. If you want more depth use more colors for the shades and highlights. But if you WANT soft edges then use the watercolor/pen to color things in, most of the time the blur tool just makes coloring look half assed.

When you use the blur what exactly are you trying to accomplish? (Im being perfectly serious) because like sable said there are other ways to accomplish smoother lines and colors, and if you want to just use solids but dont want such drastic differences in the two colors youre using to shade things, then use more darks and lights. Even just one base color, two shades, and a highlight color can give things more depth than just a base color and either a highlight or shade can.
