Technically, yes.  Just copy the files from the patch over your OP folder and it should work fine.  Of course, backing up your original files is recommended.  Wax Poteto only changes your config file if you change something in the control panel, and the original OP can use the new Wax config files.

To remove Wax, just copy your old files back.  To removed the extra Wax files that are left over, copy the "uninstall.php" file from the documentation folder to your oekaki folder and run it.

Keep in mind that the original OekakiPoteto comes with a blank notice, news file, and ban list, so be careful not to erase your original files if you go back to OP.  The files you want to watch are "announce.php", "notice.php", "ips.txt", and "hosts.txt".

Oh yeah, and there's a new version of OekakiPoteto, version 5.1.5aa.  If you want to try that first, go ahead, because Wax is compatible with that version, too.
