Hi, I tried adding the .htaccess to the oekaki folder to prevent the 'guest' errors from appearing at the top, but instead it came it with a 500 Internal Server Error, so I have removed it. Is there an alternative patch I can use?

The .htaccess file modifies server behavior (which is why some hosts disable usage of that file), so patching the PHP code will have minimal effect on how the board works. There are a few things that can be tried, though.
I'm not sure what you mean by the "guest" error. The .htaccess file will attempt to resolve problems with banner ads conflicting with animation playback, as well as some error handling only if PHP has error handling disabled internally, which is rare.

This is the error, but the .htaccess came up with the error that you said it might, and said you had an alternative larger patch?

I take it this is an older version of Wacintaki?
Newer versions of Wacintaki do not have this problem. If you have modified your board, you will need to add a line to each of the PHP files in the root folder, except for the "dbconn" and "config" files. If you have not modified your board, then an update will fix the issue.
If you're not using 1.3.11, get the appropriate patch from the products page.
If you're using 1.3.11 already, then the index file is wrong. Here's a refresh of all the 1.3.11 files that's easier to work with than the official update: 1.3.11 refresh.
If you have a modified board, so updating isn't possible, you'll need to manually add this line to the top line of each PHP script in the root folder:
error_reporting (E_ALL ^ E_NOTICE);
