Hey, longtime user, notime poster,
I can't say exactly when this started, but perhaps when I went fully into the Wacintaki.
All I can say is it takes about 5-10 seconds to load the page, and 5-10 seconds to start a draw session. I'm ashamed to say, but on a cable line, this load time seems almost unbareable. Especially when all you want to do is draw.
Reading an old post, you supplied a header.php to investigate this. I did so, and here are my details
start, kill_user: 5.0382 --- kill_reg: 5.0384 --- ss_cleanup: 5.0385 --- Online: 5.0385 --- Pending: 5.0403 --- Mail: 5.0427 --- Banner: 5.0433 ---
EndHeader: 5.0427 ---
What really concerns me is the other user had times of 0.1888 and the like.
I'm running the database on MySQL, and the database is located on the server, and is setup exclusively for this oekaki. It runs no other tables.
Any ideas? And thanks for even looking at this!

If there's already a 5 second delay by the time "kill_user" is executed, then the problem is most likely associated with the online list. Or, it might be a connection fluke that only affects you. How many people are online? Are there any accounts that never disappear? Is there any gibberish in the list?

1 - 3 max. ever.
Most often it's 1 or 2.
No gibberish.
just for grins: website is http://www.cactusflyspray.com/oekaki

Hmm... well, the slowdown is somewhere in "boot.php".
Thy this one: Benchmark for boot.php (1.3.5 and 1.3.6 only)
Offline
Init: 0 -- Hacks: 0.0010 -- Ban: 5.0128 -- VerifyOU: 5.0192 -- Flags: 5.0223 -- Tpl: 5.0364 -- Online: 5.0366 -- OnlineVer: 5.0439 -
I assumed that BAN was referring to the Ban list.
I looked at the BAN list, and there was a banned IP. I didn't remember ever setting the IP, so I removed it, and then saved it.
It still sits as follows:
Init: 0 -- Hacks: 0.0010 -- Ban: 5.0094 -- VerifyOU: 5.0138 -- Flags: 5.0176 -- Tpl: 5.0342 -- Online: 5.0345 -- OnlineVer: 5.0409 -
If it is referring to the Banner, then I also checked that and it has nothing in/on it.

It's either the ban list (makes sense if there's a slow include) or the host trace (which doesn't make sense). What bothers me is that if you're logged in as an owner, the ban list is supposed to be disabled.
Try this new one: Benchmark for boot.php (1.3.5 and 1.3.6 only)

Bugger. I did some research on host traces, and apparently, some servers have problems doing it, so it results in VERY slow traces with no error messages. Basicly, your server is set up to do a trace with a 5 second timeout. So, it a trace can't be made in 5 seconds, the server gives up and just uses an IP address for the host.
Given how consistently your server fails to trace a host, I guess your server can't do it at all. I've made a change to 1.3.6 to allow for this situation. It will require you to make a change to your "hacks.php" file. If you haven't made any changes to that file, just download this patch: custom 1.3.6 beta
If you have modified your hacks.php file, you'll have to copy your old settings to the new one.
When the official 1.3.6 comes out, you can just update as normal.
