Furry stuff, oekaki stuff, and other stuff.

The exact procedure depends which version of WinZip you are using. I have version 8.
Double-click the ZIP archive to bring it up in WinZIP. Without selecting any files, click the "Extract" button at the top. You then need to put the files in a place where they can easily be accessed. I just put them on into a temp folder on my desktop. You can copy-and-paste this, which creates a "temp" folder on your desktop: %userprofile%/desktop/temp/
If you accidently select any files, WinZIP will only extract the files you've selected.
If you have a new version of Wax, the files in the "oekaki" folder must be uploaded to the server. For a patch, files in the "overwrite" folder must be copied over the files on the server.
If you need help with FTP, there's a basic tutorial in the manual, in the "documentation" folder.

"GTK+ 2.8 runtime requires Windows 2000 or newer and will not work on Windows 95/98/98SE/ME and Windows NT 4."
Thats what I got when I clicked on it after I un-zipped it.
What the flippin' heck? GTK+ is a graphics toolkit used for writing desktop software and has nothing to do with any Wax Poteto files. Is WinZIP giving you that error?
If you're having problems with WinZIP, you can try PowerArchiver (v6 is free).

ok that didnt work. forgot, this is a forum..
I've found a free host that supports php, can someone set it up for me? the most i can do is freewebs basic html like text boxes and borders and iframes.I really don't get php at all, and my freagin computer turns all the files into pictures.
Ohh... OK. On your own computer, PHP scripts don't actually do anything. PHP scripts can only be "run" on a web server, so you have to upload the files to a server to use them. For some reason, photo software on your computer is trying to use files with the ".php" file extension.
In reality, you don't need to know any HTML to install the board. You just need to know how to upload files with FTP and set file permissions. This is explained in the Wacintaki manual, in the "documentation" folder of the ZIP file.
I'd have no problem installing it for you, but I'll need your server login and some other information so I can set up the database and stuff. If you're OK with that, e-mail me, and I'll tell you exactly what information I'll need. After the board is installed, most setttings can be edited later, but some things must be done right the first time.

Nope. I think my e-mail spam filter is blocking Yahoo addresses, so I've turned it off. There are a couple other people who should've gotten back to me by now that haven't, and they both have Yahoo addresses, too.
I'll send you another e-mail. Hopefully, It'll work this time.
[EDIT:] Scratch that. Noting releated to Yahoo will work on my computer. I can't send ANY mail to myself from Yahoo. Please use this address instead: E-Mail for Yahoo members.

In my FTP program, "evaluv.ev.funpic.org" is the host (I don't have to type in the "ftp://" at the beginning).
When you login, you will be a the root folder, so oekaki files just go into "oekaki". What program are you using to transfer files? If you're trying to use a web browser, you can login, but I believe it is read-only.

oh yeah.. I heard you could do it with windows explorer, but the only thing it would let me do was make new empty directory files with nothing in them.
I downloaded their ftp thing and unzipped it but im going to have to try again because it was overwritten by some other files i downloaded
