Oh man I gotta do some rewriting here. I have this weird habit of using the same word over and over again sometimes. I seem to do it only on certain pages and with certain words. In this page it's 'something' and in others it's 'just' or 'even' or whatever. I have no idea why I do this and it's driving me CRAZY!

I actually am currently unable to draw on here! I don't know what happened. First it tells me I need updated Java, so I make sure thats good.. Then it tells me a security feature has blocked the applet. I use Opera as my main browser and have never had this issue before. Maybe Wac has an idea? Its not the usual 'Do you want to allow this applet to run?' security window, either.. It gives me no option, just says 'Your security settings have blocked this application.' If anyone has a bright idea, I'm all ears.

I'm going to pull a theory right out my ass and see if it blows. Seriously I don't know much about computers but try refreshing your page when you go to draw when this happens. I say this because net-neutrality is now dead and maybe your server doesn't like giving you access to ninechime's server or something. I know it sounds CRAZY and probably won't make a difference but ever since net-neutrality died the very next day (and ever since) I couldn't watch more than one video on The Young Turks on their 'recent upload' playlist. Now when I do the next video won't load for me but I click refresh and then the video plays. I have no idea if any of these things are related but it's what I have to do now so I thought I'd throw this out there.

@ Satbast -- From what you wrote, I believe you DO have Java and that it's the recent update which is causing this FUBAR by setting security too high by default, probably only affecting small sites without Java Certificates. I first noticed it when trying to watch the animations (when they work) and got a cryptic security error window that I eventually realized was from Java and not my antivirii or firewall. I reset a Java parameter, got it to work but, after testing, set it back because I wondered if changing that left me with a potential security problem. YMMV.

After reading your posts & remembering what I'd done, I tried it again just now & believe this is the solution to your drawing problem, as I was able to doodle in Shi-Painter as a test, as well as watch an animation.

Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/JAVA/CONFIGURE JAVA. In the JAVA CONTROL PANEL, select the SECURITY tab and turn the SECURITY LEVEL down to "MEDIUM" (it doesn't go any lower). Click "OK" to exit. Unfortunately, this change doesn't take place immediately. Bookmark or otherwise save any open windows you want to return to and close your browser. Upon restarting it, the new setting will be in effect. Now you will get that familiar security warning but, it at least offers you an option to run a site's Java apps, like "View Animation" or draw.

This works for Firefox and Chrome; hope it works in Opera.

If you must change anything, take the apostrophe out of "AK-47's," as it's used for the possessive; not the plural.

The way I did it is actually correct even though it might not look correct. From Essentials of English Grammar by L. Sue Baugh:

The apostrophe or 's is used to form the plural of letters, numbers, signs, symbols, and words referred to as words.
Examples:

All the R's in this article were printed backwards.
Your 3's look like 8's.
How many and's can you put in one sentence?

Now if you want to see some really bad grammar or spelling check out my early Deazle Weasel comics! I've got mistakes all over those pages. But having said all that everybody feel free to point out any mistakes, contradictions, parts of the story line that don't make sense etc in my comics. I really dig feedback like Sakana's :gamer:

I could cite equally lengthy examples that prove MY point but, will spare the readers as, anyone can find same by googling (Yeah, I "verbed" a noun. Boo yaah!) on his own.

In a short survey of grammar sites, I now think the real difference in correctness, based on the times, is how old the stylebook or, one's education. Guess I'm just "Old School."

I looked up some different sites and yes there are differing opinions about this. I always like to refer to my book because it covers everything I've ever needed to look up and is arranged in such a handy way for finding out what I need to know in seconds. One of the reasons I like the book so much is that the author avoids complicating the rules with 'use this rule for bla bla *except* for when *this* happens and sometimes that'... She just says "here's the rule it covers all that".

Monster Grammar has a tip saying that if there's any chance of confusing the reader then go for it and put in the apostrophe. I run into these kind of things quite a bit because comics traditionally use all capital letters for text. Grammar rules were never meant to take into consideration lowly comics, at least as far as I know. If I typed it out AK-47s would be way easier for the reader than AK-47S so I was glad to see my book said I could throw in the apostrophe. (I originally wanted Balki to say it like AK without the 47 which is how I normally refer to that type of gun, it could have looked like this: ANGELS THAT PACK AKS AREN'T LEGIT. I could go on and on you know me.

I did go on and on because personally I love conversations like this and lots of us make comics so I think it's relevant for us to improving our 'aht'. In fact Sakana, I even consider those unique photo/puppet montage things you do to be comics in a sense so yeah, whether you think so or not I consider you to be a fellow comics artist. We used to have conversations like this on the VCL forum. I really miss those days. I'm on pain killers right now and yeah hopefully this was the last thing Mr Kalishnikov ever read. I bet he was a Deep Thinking Pervert.

Changes made: I like this way better without the burning corpse hanging in the middle of your camp kinda thing. I mean that would really ruin the moment. I'd have to get the fuck out of there and since Ken's incapacitated he'd have to stay. It would have made for some comedy if Ken woke up by himself with nothing but a burnt body to greet him in the morning though. He'd be all like "what the fuck? I miss all the excitement...". But I wasn't planning on Ken getting separated from everyone else.

Pig: I'm going to keep writing AK-47 only because that's what most people will know. (I was always under the impression that AKM's were a certain model of the AK. And since I didn't know otherwise it's not likely Balki would know that because she's a girl.)
