Furry stuff, oekaki stuff, and other stuff.

Everytime I try to upload an avatar I always get (long):
Warning: fopen() [function.fopen]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid/gid is 10303/10303 is not allowed to access /mounted-storage/home19a/sub001/sc19346-CVUA/subdomain/monodoki/oekaki/avatars owned by uid/gid 99/99 in /mounted-storage/home19a/sub001/sc19346-CVUA/subdomain/monodoki/oekaki/edit_avatar.php on line 88

Also, SOMETIMES the pictures don't upload, it tells you: "Unable to save image. Please try again or take a screenshot of your picture."
If the picture gets through and you want to retouch it, it shows something similar to the warning above:
Warning: getimagesize() [function.getimagesize]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid/gid is 10303/10303 is not allowed to access pictures/AI_3.png owned by uid/gid 99/99 in /mounted-storage/home19a/sub001/sc19346-CVUA/subdomain/monodoki/oekaki/noteBBS.php on line 101
Warning: getimagesize(pictures/AI_3.png) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: Success in /mounted-storage/home19a/sub001/sc19346-CVUA/subdomain/monodoki/oekaki/noteBBS.php on line 101
and the canvas is thumbnail size. I'm so frustrated with everything at the moment. D:
I read about safe mode around here, but I don't know what to do. I don't own the main site, I'm merely a subdomain of someone's. I'm not sure what to do! Please help!!

"Safe mode" is a setting chosen by the system administrator that prevents scripts from writing new files. There are certain conditions where files can be modified, but in general, new files cannot be written. You can try to CHMOD your pictures and avatars folders to 777 or 775, but that doesn't always work. It depends on the host's security policy.
To use the board properly, you'll have to ask your system admin to disable safe mode. If this is a free hosting service, you're probably better off looking for a new one.
