Where is the damn PM function?

It's been years haven't it? Wacoon, if you could send me an AIM at Personalife, I would appreciate it. I need to ask you for possible assistance on a new board I'm working on; I'm a bit stuck on the applet saving details since I haven't worked on one for years.

But boy, I have lots to show you.

Re: Where is the damn PM function?

Hey, there!

I'm afraid I don't have any kind of IM/chat software, but you can reach me via my e-mail address.  I've never heard of Personalife and a quick Google search only showed a site in Italy.

Parsing the applet data is pretty easy.  Parsing it properly is hard, due to a wide variety of standards compliance issues.  I have some notes regarding header passing, cookies, animation overlays, and compression levels in the applet code in Wacintaki that you might find useful.  Send me an e-mail and I'll explain things in more detail.  Obviously, it's a good idea to code for the worst case scenario.  One of these days, hopefully somebody will put together an oekaki applet that sends multipart encoded forms (from what I've seen, even Lascaux doesn't do this, but it's been a while since I've looked at that applet).

Oh yeah, and I have two burning questions:  how are you handling support for multiple boards?  Are you using CGI pass-throughs or clean URLs?  Both have their problems and I can't figure out which would be better.  I'm also curious as to how you're handling language support.

E-mailed you.

For everyone else, here's a UI demo:

http://journal.suteki.nu/video/bluejot_demo.swf (not all UI elements are final, and yes, part of the look is from PHPBB3, which full credit is given to)

I hope you have time to assist in developing BlueJot, since everyone loves a BJ.
