Hello! I have a Wacintaki 1.4.1 oekaki installed. I recently upgraded to 1.4.1 from a older version, and it seemed to work fine for some weeks. Then, all of a sudden, yesterday it stopped working. A friend of mine tried to register and when I went there to approve her, in fact she was not in the list of pending members. But that's not the only issue - I can't seem to be able to do ANYTHING to the oekaki. Comments, uploads, picture sends, nothing works. Even the "Online" window apparently froze and always shows the same people on (when I know for sure they are not).
Access to the oekaki related files/pages has slowed down terribly (sometimes it takes a minute for a page to load), but if I try to access the images themselves, or other files not oekaki related on the same webspace, everything is fast and smooth as ever.
On the same webspace I have other two oekaki boards freshly installed (not upgraded) a couple months ago, that had never had problems - now they have the same problem this one is having.
Before I ask for clarification to my host, I wanted to know if a similar problem is known and due to something happening to the oekaki, or is an issue that is related to something else.
If you have multiple boards and they are all slow, this sounds like a hosting issue.
At the bottom of the oekaki, there is a timer that shows the load time (mostly database related). What is a typical value? If the timer doesn't match how long you're waiting (say, you wait 30 seconds, but the timer shows a half second), this is not a database issue, and could be related to how the server sends PHP files, or possibly your server's security policy. This can be tricky to resolve.
If the timer does show a very high value, this could be a DNS resolution issue which causes the script to time out (which would prevent any data from being updated, such as the online list and registrations). This is a very rare problem, but there is a way to fix this by editing the "hacks.php" file. DNS resolution is used by the ban list, but is not required.
Can you provide a link to your board? You can e-mail it to me if you don't want to post it publicly.

The timer seems to show the exact time it takes for the page to load. Pages seems to work faster now, but I still can't do anything to it.
Whatever performance issues there are, it's not affecting me at all. On my end, I'm getting page load times of 0.01 seconds. That's... a bit too fast. Either you're hosted on a really fast server, or they are doing some kind of system maintenance.
When I registered, the board told me that everything was fine and I'd have to wait for approval. However, I don't show up in the memberlist as a pending member. That tells me that the database is in read-only mode, so it is just throwing requests away, instead of returning insertion errors as it should. Since Wacintaki's logging system inserts errors into the database, any database errors that are returned are not going to show up in the log.
I'd contact your host and let them know that the database isn't accepting new data, but is serving data just fine. Perhaps they are tweaking something and they are not finished. But, this is definitely a database issue.

Thank you very much for the hep Waccoon! I'll contact my host and see if they know something about this. Knowing them, it will probably take a couple working days to reply to me and solve the issue.
If they say it's not a problem related to them, I'll let you know. Thanks again!
