Hi!

I just installed a Wacintaki, and I've been working on customizing and configuring it.

I'm having a problem with load times. For some reason, it's taking anywhere from four to seven seconds to load. Other stuff running on this server loads as fast as would be expected, so it's not the server itself. Perhaps it's a problem with my php.ini configuration? I'm really not sure where to even start . . .

Hmm... I see you took the timer off the footer.

I'm not quite sure where the board would stall, and if your forums work fine, it probably isn't a PHP issue. I have noticed that some Windows-based servers are pretty slow at responding, sometimes. What OS is your server using?

Do you have this issue with any of the other pages (FAQ, memberlist, rules, etc.), or is it just the index page?

PS - Real slick work with the template. Looks awesome!

Hmm, interesting. Yes, the server IS running Windows XP SP2 (With Apache)

For what it's worth, the load timer is still there, it's just commented. If you view the source you can see how long it took to load.

Yeah, as far as I can tell, ALL of the pages load that slowly.

For what it's worth, I'm not seeing any errors it my Apache log. All I seem to be getting is a bunch of PHP notices, like this:

(Sorry that was so huge. All of that was generated just from visitng a few pages! I normally have PHP notices disabled, for that reason . . . )

I am assuming those notices are harmless and aren't related to this problem, but I figured I'd point that out just to be certain.

When I visit, I get a load time of 0.4 seconds, which is in the ball park, if a little slow. If your PHP error reporting is set to include warnings, it's likely that it will slow down the board a lot.

Are you viewing the BBS on the same machine that is hosting the site? If so, the machine itself might be the issue. When I run Wacintaki on my home computer with Win2K and Apache, response time may be instantaneous, or it may take between 2-4 seconds for the web server to respond. I'd rather not dump the blame on Windows or Apache Win32 like that, but it's all I can think of.
