Not recommended, because your hosting service might flag your account for spamming and you may get suspended. That's why I never added the feature.
It would be easy to add, though. Basically, you take the existing mass mail code, and instead of doing the database insert ("INSERT INTO..."), you would replace the database query with the w_mail() function.
But, like I said, I have no idea how your hosting service would like that.
