I'm afraid "connection refused" is a fairly standard error message, and multiple things can cause it, including:
- Site is too busy, because the server only allows a limited number of people to use FTP at once.
- Site maintenance ("refused" doesn't mean you did something wrong).
- FTP client is set to passive mode when the server doesn't support it (rare).
- Compatibility issue between your FTP client and the server (common).
If you're having issues with the server spanning several days, you might have to try a different FTP client. I've never heard of ALFTP. I use an old version of CuteFTP. My backup FTP program, CoreFTP LE, is available for free, and so is FileZilla.
When I try to upload files to my website, the FTP-cilent says 'connection refused'
why is that? :0
If this helps, the ftp-cilent I use is ALFTP, and my website is on funpic.org
