Thankyou again, I've got it working now and I'm loving it.

Just to clarify, your dbhost, username, and password are corrct.  It's only the database name that's in question, or whether your username is assigned to a database.  That should be pretty quick to resolve.

Thanks, my domain is nijikon.net and I'm have paid hosting at lunarpages which have always been pretty transparent until my last oekaki stopped working for no apparent reason. I've tried just grue and my domain username_grue (which is what I think is right). I've been using WSFTP but I just took a look through their webbased cpanel and I still havent got it working. I suppose it's time to ask my host's support for help.
Thanks for being patient with a newbie!

There are a number of tools available for setting up databases, so installation will vary from host to host.

When setting up a database, you first have to create a database user and password.  When you do this, some servers will put a prefix on your username without giving you a warning, so make sure that the name is what you expected it to be.  If your server login is "myname", and you create a database username "oekaki", the actual username may end up being "myname_oekaki".

After creating a database username, you'll need to create a database.  The same naming issue might happen to the database name, so you'd end up with "myname_grue".  Be sure to check that.  Some servers are even worse and don't allow you to choose a database name.  They assign them, so you may end up with something like "myname_001" or something odd like that.  Check the control panel or FAQ on your server to make sure.

After you've created both a database and a username, some servers will require you to assign the username to a database.  Otherwise, the database you want will be invisible to that username, and you'll get the "not found" error you've described.  Many free servers don't require a username assignment, most paid servers do.

Hello, I think I've uploaded and chmoded everything okay but I'm getting this error when I do the installation.
ERROR: MySQL connection successful, but cannot access database named “grue”
It's a fresh wacintaki installation. I've managed to install an oekakibbs before but that was quite a while ago. I really dont have a clue what I'm doing. So before I start messing around, I thought I ought to ask here ^_^

Thanks in advance for any help!
