Furry stuff, oekaki stuff, and other stuff.

Sometimes servers won't serve files of a specific type without additional read permissions, or sometimes even execute permissions. Java applets tend to be particularly sensitive, for some reason.
Thanks! The chmod helped. Weird, I thought I had put them all to at least 755.
Offhand, I can think of three problems: The animation player got corrupted when it was uploaded (the same player is for both PaintBBS and ShiPinater), the "shipainter" folder is locked, or Java isn't working right on your computer.
This might be a home server, but I have no idea how it is set up, so I'll treat it like a web server.
First, try to access the "shipainter" folder directly on the server, by typing something like "/oekkai/shipainter". If you get a 403 error, you need to CHMOD the folder so the animation viewer can be accessed, such as 776. You might as well do it, really, since there's nothing critical in that folder, anyway.
If that doesn't work, try re-uploading the animation viewer. In the "shipinater" folder, try to re-upload the "PCHViewer.jar" file, and make sure your FTP program is set to binary mode (instead of ASCII or Auto mode). For some reason, the animation viewer tends to mess up when it is uploaded normally.
If that still doesn't work, you can try getting a newer version of Java from here. Of course, that's kind of a last-ditch effort.
I installed Wacintaki 1.3.5 yesterday and everything went really smoothly. But now when I tried recording animation for the first time, it doesn't seem to work. All it shows is a white space and red X. I can download the animation file from the link without any problem. The oekaki is installed to my own home server and it has LightTPD 1.4.11 web server. So what should I do?
Ah forgot to add that I tried animation in Shi-Painter and PaintBBS, both have the same problem.
