Just a super quick drawing so I could post asking a favor of you all: Over the next few months I will be starting my serious tattoo work. I would love to get some ink that you guys design. If any of you would be willing to help me out, and see your art in flesh for all eternity, it would be super rad. The one I really want to get first is a tarot card - The Hanged Man. You could do it by hand too, of course. There's a few of you who's style I would really like it in, especially syrynx probably because her style is so nice and soft. The other stuff I want help on, I am doing an entire half sleeve of Alice in Wonderland stuff. I want to get the scene where she is falling down the hole because it would make for easy filler in between the pieces. I want to get all the characters and imagery, but done in different art styles. There's a few of you who I would love to get some Alice in Wonderland stuff from - Fig, Sam, Alanna, XOD, Pig...all of you who have creepy styles. Whichever one somebody feels like helping me out on, if anyone even decides to help out, will be my next tattoo, and I'll probably get it done in a couple of weeks. I would love you long time. @ Dej- oh no, I didn't make anything yet, but I have done "alice themed" pics before.. I was basically saying that I might give it a shot fully knowing that my style is fairly anime ish and could be considered generic or too "doodley"

This was a request from someone on Gaia. I have been on a drawing kick lately, but wanted to try drawing some shit I wouldn't normally do. So I posted an art thread on Gaia just to give me some motivation, not that I give a shit about the game itself. I'll have a lot of these to do, sorry in advance. Oh, also, I tried to use the canvas resize on this and it just kept putting the new lines in the middle of my drawing, so it sucked

I did a timeline of Dejection and the only other character of mine I've drawn more than once is my foxoon, Diedre. So, I'm drawing her for the redraw an old picture...but it's more redraw an old character for me. There was another picture I wanted to redo but decided to do this instead I'm not used to drawing actual furry faces, I tried to have it humanoid but it's just hard to make something look like a fox with a human face. This is the stage when furries just feel goofy to me. I look at something with the face of an animal and I just can't take it seriously, unless it's like, a badass werewolf or one of those indian shaman lookin' wolf guys.

See, I'm the opposite. To me, it makes no sense to draw a human with animal heads. You might as well take advantage of the anthropomorphism and try to incorporate as many animal features as possible, without making the character look like he or she is a walking ergonomic nightmare (example: digitigrade feet). I was going through some old art of mine, and then I stumbled upon old gift art of Dejection. There were a lot of beautiful pieces in there from a lot of people I miss. It made me real nostalgic, I miss a lot of those people. And yes, I'll admit it. I miss drawing Dejection sometimes. I have a hard time reconciling my love for Dejection and my dislike for the furry subculture as a whole. There, done. What do you think of Dejection with purple wings? Should I keep them or stay grey?

I accidentally deleted my comment, but the gist of what it said was This was before your time, Sean. A good 5-6 years ago, we were all posting on a board hosted by Dave Kelly. Due to some drama (Dave is kind of nuts), I think mostly caused by Hobart Starr drawing porn of Dave's Purple Pussy characters, he shut the board down. He opened another, which didn't last too long. After that shut down, Waccoon opened DTP for us vagrants without a home. Most of the people who drew on the original board are gone now, except Wac, Nanimoose, Surey Neko, Al, me, Tha Pig, NOIP, and a few others. I think Alanna, Fig, and Sam appeared around the second of Dave's boards. I still have all the shit I drew 6 years ago too, just to look at and laugh, and also to see how much I've improved.

A mix of both. It'll proably be called "The God List," based on a anchant Babylonian text listing all the known gods, seeing which ones are similar and classing them as the same entity. I've yet to flesh things out, but mostly forgottn enitiys are awesome characters to play with. I mean take Hexor, demon of self-hatred. Or Eostr, look the poor girl up to see what happened to her. Yeah, Dave Kelly went by Cave Deli. Xod didn't disappear 4 years ago. It was 3, if you search the board he posted something in February 05. I'm not 100% on the math, but looking at my drawings I can see when they were edited last and know that I started about 6 years ago. I think you joined DTP shortly after it opened, yes...The Dave Kelly boards went down probably 4 years ago. Dave is a babyfur that ran to join SA, but they don't know about it there. Every time I see him post I want to call him out on it, because he was REALLY WEIRD and used to try to cyber me when I was 16 or so and he was in his 30's. I just don't like the guy. Waccoon's board has a lot less crazy and drama, I like it better even though some of the cool people are gone.

Well, I don't have any proof anymore since I'm pretty sure his babyfur oekaki board was taken down (you needed to be invited to it for draw or view access, somehow I was) and I never saved any of the pictures or chatlogs. Why would I? I'm not really going to call him out, I have no real reason to other than my own personal dislike of him, and that would be pretty petty. I don't really feel like getting banned for making a bunch of accusations I can't back up, even if they are true. I do have a picture he drew of Dejection though, I'm sure I could scare him with it. But really, what's the point? I think the picture of him in a diaper is still circulating the internet somewhere. I miss Dejection. I hate to see someone retire a character. On furries, I think the problem is that there's no formal definition of the term. I have always associated the word "furry" with characters on paper. Calling people furries is a bit creepy. I call myself "furry" occasionally so people know what I draw, but outside the fandom I just call myself a cartoonist. Hey, is a gargoyle even a furry? Let's just roll our eyes and forget about it, mm-kay? On Dave, well, he was OK to deal with way back when, but then he really turned into an asshole when he started his hypocritical stage. When he decided to shut down the board, he wanted me to post a really nasty goodbye message for him, because he didn't want to do it himself. We argued about that. I felt bad for having "hijacked" the board, but I didn't think it was fair to just shut everything down when there were so many people still enjoying the place. I blame FurAffinity for the lack of activity on DTP, as well as the lack of a good commenting system. I haven't drawn a serious oekaki here in a long time, thanks to the community structure of FA. I should take that into consideration if I decide to make Wacintaki 2.0.

Oh I did. I rather liked the non-cat girl version you did. Also I prefure the versions with the full set of hooked wings (I'm a fan of details). You might remember that was the version I animated a while back. Damn, I really must get animating again. Some of you already know why I have been unmotivated of late.

I remember when Aki hosted us (2002?), but I probably didn't draw anything memorable then LOL. Very pretty drawing, Dej. I do like your Dejection character. She's not a run-of-the-mill furry either (normal face and legs, right?). Pretty dress! I don't know about the wing shade, but it definitely suits them to be a little darker than the skin.

I remember, Al. That was a REALLY long time ago, though. I haven't drawn Dejection like that in awhile. I almost drew those wings in this drawing, actually, but they didn't really suit this outfit. And yeah, her legs are normal, but I dunno about her face so much. Her nose was supposed to at least look a little catlike in this drawing.

I was one of the kids that was around when it was actually dave's board. I miss those days kinda because I felt a lot freer to draw whatever because it all sucked anyways. Now I just lurk and post things randomly... For me, this board feels very clicky. I like looking at people's art but it's hard for me to draw somewhere where I don't feel welcome.

I remember Dave Kelly being one of the first posters on Akirarat's oekaki board when it opened sometime around 2001. He had some sort of fetish about homosexual pedophilia and human wastes or something and he often asked people to draw these things for him as 'fanart'.

It was somehow strange that he once decided to become a rather important member of a website that makes fun of people with fetishes much less perverted than his!
