 I'm guessing you draw with a mouse; not a tablet. You might want to get one. Used, smaller, older Wacoms or, off-brands, are cheap enough on ebaY. If your laptop has a touchpad, try using a stylus there.

Watch the animations here and in DTP too, for inspiration and as tutorials. Otherwise, check YouTube for many videos of drawing in plain old MS Paint, where amazing art is made starting with the "curve" tool.

ShiPainter has a bezier tool that works like "curve" and can improve those mousey lines, even if you're not working with an underdrawing.
